Nitrogen Disk Prototyping with Eric Lagerstrom and Argon 18
In a collaboration with Argon 18 bikes, Eric Lagerstrom filmed his first ride on the new Nitrogen Disk aero frame, on the beautiful Columbia River Gorge Highway in Oregon.
"I can't explain how cool it is to be involved with Argon 18, and to have them actively requesting my feedback on products that they're developing. It's something I've dreamed of my entire career as a professional triathlete, and I couldn't be happier to help out."
Asked to comment and compare the two bikes, nitrogen pro (2018 model) vs nitrogen disc (coming in 2019) on the handling, stiffness of the bike:
"I loved the Nitrogen pro more than any bike I had ridden. It actually felt like the perfect blend of my three previous bikes. My only reservation was the braking perfomance. While the cantilever brakes included were the best I'd used, they still had their limits, and I was hoping to make the switch to disc brakes in 2018. The Nitrogen disk was like an answer to my prayers. All the aero benefits of the Nitrogen pro without the drawbacks. Plus, it's hard for me to even describe the increase in confidence that the new Nitrogen Disc has, due to the utilization of thru axles. I literally get a smile on my face every time the road pitches down and starts to wind. "Riding on rails" is perhaps a cliche, but it's the only phrase that does the experience justice."
